Dr. Andrei Vasilian graduated with honours with a B.Sc. degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Toronto in 1996. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 2000. He followed this with one year of post-doctoral residency training (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio and its affiliated hospitals. In his residency Dr. Vasilian received training in various surgical procedures and conscious I.V. sedation.

Over the past 20 years of practice he has further developed his interests in orthodontics, children’s dentistry and comprehensive adult restorative and full-mouth rehabilitation cases. His other interests are art history, running and cycling and travelling to new destinations.

Dr. Joe Ercic graduated from York University with an Honours degree in Cell and Molecular Biology in 2012. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree from the University of Sydney in 2016. He is an active member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), the Canadian Dental Association (CDA) and the Ontario Dental Association (ODA). His professional interests include restorative, cosmetic, and emergency dentistry.

In his spare time, Dr. Ercic enjoys playing tennis and basketball. He is a passionate foodie and loves exploring local dining spots.

Dr. Nicola Naurato received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honours at the University of Toronto in 2000. He then went on to the University of Mississippi to complete one year of general dentistry residency (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) and stayed as a research fellow for a second year.  

Dr. Naurato continued his postgraduate education at the University of Rochester to obtain his specialty certificate in periodontology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Periodontics and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. In addition, he has been a clinical instructor of periodontology at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Naurato adds to our practice his expertise in gum-related conditions (periodontitis) as well as implant surgeries and tissue grafting (bone and gingival).

Elda is a Registered Dental Hygienist who graduated from Oxford College and she also holds a degree in Biology and Health Studies from the University of Toronto. Elda always wanted to be in the dental field and loves to take care of her patients and their smiles. She believes that preventative dental care and regular maintenance is equally important not only to dental health but to overall general health. Her goal as a hygienist has always been to provide patients with the highest quality of care in the safest and most comfortable environment possible.

Parbattie graduated from the Canadian Business College and has been with Avalon Dentistry for many years now. She brings her vast experience and forward-looking planning to almost everything that our practice does, from chairside assisting in all restorative, surgical, endodontic and orthodontic procedures to ensuring that our office meets the highest standards of dental infection control. She is trained in digital radiography and is HARP certified. Her chairside skills shine through every time you sit in a treatment room for an appointment with one of our doctors, making you feel fully comfortable and at ease.

Ernane is a graduate of the Medix College Dental Assistant Program. She is an amazing multi-tasker, very easy-going and extremely skilled with all aspects of dental assisting. Ernane also loves working with our children patients! In her spare time, she is a dedicated mother to her young family.

Sandy comes to Avalon Dentistry with many years of dental experience in this field. Sandy completed a health care administration program at St. Lawrence College and obtained her “HARP” certificate from George Brown College. Sandy is a very well organized and efficient front desk administrator, yet always eager to go one step further in helping our patients to improve their customer service experience.
In spare time, Sandy enjoys trying new foods and restaurants, staying active outdoors, spending time with family and travelling.

Sophia is the newest addition to the Avalon Dentistry team. Currently pursuing a double major bachelor’s degree at the University of Toronto, she is new to the dentistry field, but her drive for excellence and passion for helping patients is evident. In her free time, she volunteers with many local organizations that serve the Toronto community as a whole. In addition, she enjoys all things baking, cooking, and everything in between.
